Students of Sikkim Professional College of Nursing celebrated International Women Day with great zeal and joy. Students of second year of basic nursing organized the event wherein the Registrar of the University Professor Ramesh Kumar Rawat shed light on the significance of this day and appreciated the contribution of women for society. In addition, he also highlightedthe unprecedented work of Florence Nightingale in the sphere of nursing.
On this day, different events organized on theme of woman empowerment and woman education where students displayed some amazing performance including speech, poetry, dance, songs, speech, and writing. Dr. Barkha Devi, Associate Professor,appeared at the event as a chief guest, she laid stress on gender equality, experiential learning, and adoption of digital technology in education. In addition, she also highlighted the salient features of nursing programmes at Sikkim Professional University (SPU) focused on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills and proficiency enable students to address the health needs of the nation, society, and individuals.
On this important day, eminent dignitaries and students from different department also appeared in the event where they exchanged actionable insights and productivity hacks to uplift higher education.
