Gudi Padwa is an auspicious festival in Hindu religion that marks the Hindu New Year. The festival is celebrated across the country with religious and cultural fervour and devotion. Significantly, Hindu New Year is celebrated in different communities in different dates with the advent of Gudi Padwa. On this day, Gudi is hangedout of a windowthat specifies religious and devotional significance. Gudi is cloth adorned with brocade tied to the tip of along bamboo over which sugarcane, neem leaves, a twigif mango leaves and a garland of flowers is tied. A silverpot is placed in the inverted position over it.
