Sikkim Professional University earlier named as Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University was established in the year 2008 by an Act (No.11of 2008) of State Assembly passed by Government of Sikkim and now it has been renamed as Sikkim Professional University as per Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University Amendment Act, 2020 (Act No. 09 of 2020).

Sikkim Professional University is a destination of quality higher education that aim to produce highly capable and intellectual graduates those who can easily compete in today’s corporate world. SPU enables its graduates and post graduates students to discover their own competencies with new horizons and opportunities. SPU implements quality educational model of international standards where students can learn different aspects of higher education in a smart manner.

SPU accelerates its students who are having extra ordinary talent, leadership skills, creative thinkers and ethical values. We favor our students those who are having these unbelievable qualities to work closely to their specialized fields in order to get succeed in their career life.

Here, we design our course curriculum with the aim to easily synchronized with ever segments of business world. We always work on to-add on different guest lectures and seminars in our course curriculum to develop the skills and knowledge of our students in an effective manner that benefits the society as whole.

The SPU, Arts and Science College, Gangtok is brought under the Ambit of Sikkim Professional University, Gangtok and has been functioning as one of the Constituent units of Sikkim Professional University.

The Institution serves the Society with its best Education System, Excellent Infrastructural facilities, Laboratories, Information Resource Centers etc., especially for the poor and the down trodden rural people in and around the geographical surroundings of the Institution.

SPU Arts and Science College, a Constituent College of Sikkim Professional University, Gangtok, has deep rooted experience in various fields of basic sciences education.
